The Best Hotel Stay in Zakynthos Greece – Kymothoe Elite
Hello Jetsetters! I am adding another post to my Greece Travel Experience section! I have my final Greece hotel review which is for the island of Zakynthos also referred as Zakinthos or Zante. Zakynthos is one of the Greek islands we visited that was quite memorable! It was our 3rd stop of our Greece vacation! Today I will be reviewing our Zakynthos hotel on the beach, Kymothoe Elite. This a very beautiful apartment style hotel in Akrotiri. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights! Click here to read my Zakynthos Travel Guide!
KYMOTHOE ELITE- LOCATION
Kymothoe Elite hotel was truly a hidden gem and we would definitely stay here again! I discovered this hotel on Booking.com which is where I booked this hotel too! Kymothoe Elite is located in Akrotiri, Zakynthos near Tsilivi which is about a 20 min drive to the airport and about 30 minutes to Turtle Island. We arrived here by ferry at the port of Agios Nikolaos from Kefalonia. The drive from the port was about 50 minutes or so. I felt that Kymothoe Elite was in a good location to see all parts of the island. Yes, Shipwreck beach is a must see but there are other parts of the island you want to see too so this hotel’s location was perfect for us. For tips on Greek island hopping and driving in Greece, read my post here!

KYMOTHOE ELITE – FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Upon our arrival at Kymothoe Elite, Nikos the owner was so nice and made sure there was breakfast waiting for us for our late morning arrival! We had a nice breakfast outside by the pool. Breakfast included hot and cold options such as hams, bacon, eggs, breads, potato and fresh fruit. Everything was really good! It was nice to eat out side with the lovely views! Nikos also arranged for someone to pick us up from the port of Agios Nikolaos and drive us to the hotel in the car the ultimately was our rental car for our stay. The price was cheaper than what I originally booked online and included insurance too. The car was a nice car in great condition with AC!
Nikos was also very helpful throughout our stay giving us a rundown of the island and made recommendations of where we should go. He gave us a map and guided us on how to get to each touristic spot. He advised the GPS does not work well due to unmarked roads on the island we needed a map. So we used the map during our stay. One of the nice features of the hotel that we did not get to take advantage of due to our short stay was their private beach. There was a pathway that took you to this little private rocky beach at the foot of the hotel. This is why I say this is a Zakynthos hotel on the beach because it is a 2 minute walk down to this besutiful rocky beach! The water was blue and beautiful! If we had time, we would have spent some time here as well.

KYMOTHOE ELITE – THE SUITE
We booked the “Deluxe Suite with Sea view which this was basically a modern, upscale apartment with a separate bedroom! It had a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator to store your foods and drinks each day. This was definitely a plus because some of the popular beaches does not have restaurants to eat at.
When boating near Turtle Island and going to Shipwreck beach, we brought our own beverages and food. Our suite also came with a washer for your clothes which we took advantage of! It was perfect timing for us to wash some of our clothes that we used during the trip. The living room was very spacious which made you feel right at home! The view of the sea and the pool from the living room and the private balcony was amazing. I loved the balcony and enjoyed it each evening!

The bedroom was nice and comfortable with good AC. There was a nice big comfortable bed with good lighting. The bedroom was a good size given that you had a lot of space in the living room area. I loved the bathroom and bath products which again all Greek hotels carry the best smelling bath soaps and shampoos with olive oil. The bathroom was a great size with a shower that worked well. It had sliding glass doors and the hot water worked great too!
KYMOTHOE ELITE: THE BEACHES
In Zakynthos, there are many beautiful beaches to visit. The island is not that big so each beach you can easily get to within an hour or less. The day we arrived, we visited Marathonisi beach also known as Turtle Island due to the shape of the island resembling a turtle. The drive was about 30 minutes from our hotel and one of our memorable experiences! One of the best tips Nikos the hotel owner gave us was rent a boat and drive ourselves to Turtle Island and other beaches and dive spots that you can only reach by boat! This experience was quite AMAZING and super easy and CHEAP! I will discuss more about renting boats in Zakythnos in my travel guide so stay tuned!
We also visited Cameo Island! This was beautiful island only connected by a slender longer bridge like pier! Our second day we visited Navagio beach also known as Shipwreck beach which was the highlight! We got to go to the beach and go to the famous viewpoint to get our postcard photo! Check out my travel guide review of Zakynthos where I will talking about these beaches in more detail and tips you need to know when visiting here!
