“Fashion X Dallas” – Dallas’ Week of Fashion

“Style is a Way to Say Who you are without having to Speak!” ~ Rachel Zoe

Attending a fashion show is one of the best ways to see someone’s style without them saying a word! Many people flew to NYC for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) to see the Spring/Summer 2017 collections of some of the top designers in the world. Many people from the Dallas/Fort Worth area also flew to New York to attend. But what some people may not know is Dallas is becoming a strong market for fashion and is putting their mark on the map in the fashion industry as well.

September 8-10th was Dallas’ Week of Fashion where there was Fashion X Dallas Presented by Cadillac, which I was able to attend! This is the 3rd year for Fashion X Dallas by Matt Swinney and each year it gets bigger and better! This 3 night extravagent event took place at Fashion Industry Gallery in Downtown Dallas and featured some of stunning runway shows from some amazing designers. Some of these designers were stars of the hit show Project Runway such Chloe Dao, Michelle Lesniak and Sean Patrick Kelly, and other designers well known locally in the DFW metroplex, in the state of Texas. In addition to some amazing designers, there were celebrities present as well such as LeeAnne Locken & Heidi Dillon of Real Housewives of Dallas, Steve Kemble a fashion guru that has been on many wedding shows on WE tv and the Style Channel, and Linda Gray awarding winning actress best know for her role in the hit TV series Dallas.

Each night when you entered you were greeted with complimentary wine from Chloe Wines! I am a big prosecco fan and so the prosecco that they offered was phenomenal! Light & crisp just how I like it. The Chloe Wine wall design was beautiful and many guests did photo ops and used hashtag #chloewineredcarpet.

Also for VIP guests, they could hang out at the VIP lounge where there was an open bar. This was nice because you got to mingle with some of the designers and other Dallas socialites. Also each guest received a designer gift each night! Friday evening’s gift was a surprise gift boxes from Kendra Scott! I am already a fan of Kendra Scott’s jewelry and happened to already be wearing some turquoise earrings that same night too. Each box was something different but you did not know what it was until you opened it! I received beautiful earrings in my favorite color purple!

Before the event began, guests were also able to view and shop the various pop-up shops by some amazing designers such as Penny Luck, Allison Mitchell, Sonjia Williams and Dalpaca. Penny Luck’s concept is very awesome! You can customize your own shoe by adding your own penny. You can choose the year of the penny as well. Perhaps your birth year or anniversary year is a year of importance to you and you can have them choose a penny with that particular year. I also loved the bags of Allison Mitchell! She had a variety displayed at her pop-up shop ready for purchase from fur to leather. I really loved the bright colors she has in her collection.

Now for the fashion shows there were so many great designers – from established designers to up and coming. One of my favorite collections was Binzario Couture! Binzario specializes in bridal and formal wear by Andrine Yabin and Luis Nazario. Their collections have been shown at New York & Paris Fashion week and featured in magazines such as D Weddings, En Vie and Luxury Channel to name a few. I really loved the detail and some of the beading in their collection shown at Fashion X Dallas.

Another favorite collection was Suit & Supply who is actually local here in Dallas located in West Village in Uptown. The suits were very chic and classy and some unique pieces as well! The suits shown were different colors and fabric. I could definitely see my husband in one of these suits.

Daniel Esquivel an Austin, TX native and an all-star in Season 11 of Project Runway featured his collection at Fashion X Dallas as well! His collections was very unique as well! I loved animal print featured in a few of his pieces and definitely his logo.

psx_20160923_100131psx_20160923_100236Each evening of Fashion X Dallas, they featured up and coming designers in a “Capsule show”. This was 3-look mini collection of a designer’s latest collection! Some of the designs were very unique such as the Colt Collection.

There were many wonderful collections that were featured that I could go on and on. Though Dallas may not be a big fashion capital compared to New York or Paris, but definitely market to not sleep on. We have so many local designers and in the state that I feel everyone should check out. Next year when you hear about Fashion X Dallas, definitely get your tickets and so you can also enjoy this wonderful night! Thank you Fashion X Dallas for having me!

Stay fresh & FIERCELY you!

P.S. Let’s meet up on Instagram, Facebook , Twitter & Bloglovin
