Clear Transparent Bags & Shoes: Let’s Be Clear
Hey fashionistas! So today I am reviewing over one of the hottest trends of the season. You have see these styles on celebs, magazines and maybe even on your favorite influencers. The clear transparent trend is here! You may have seen clear transparent bags and shoes and I got me a pair. I have to say that this trend had to grow on me. I was not a fan at first but then after seeing some cute styles then I loved it. THEN when I actually got 3 bags and a pair of heels, I am 50/50 about. So I will talk about the good and the bad of this trend as well as share with you a few of my favorite styles.
So this clear trend popped up in the spring and I was not an immediate fan. It just gave me a flash back of the 90s era of jelly shoes. Remember those? Then I remember years ago when clear shoes came I think I was in high school I hated that the clear strap had the fog/condensation because in Texas it is soo HOT that one look at the plastic you can see that your feet were hot too. So when this came out I just passed it on by. It was not until I saw celebs and fashionistas sporting them in a high fashion way that I began to look at them different. There are a two different types of clear products you can get that are “haute” right now: Clear bags and heels.
I determined that I do not like things completely clear. I needs some type of opaqueness and fabric to my items whether they are heels or shoes. When it came to shoes, I was not a fan of the toe being completely clear. There is this one brand that sold some of the most fashionable clear heels on the market which is sold on one of my favorite online websites. Click here. I loved the heels that part of the strap had a think leather strap and the rest is clear. I did not like the illusion of walking without the top half of a shoe. This brand has different colors, straps, tie ups, heel styles you name it. Shop below some of the cutest clear heels on market! The one downside to this is this pair looked like it was cutting off my circulation in shots event though they were completely comfortable. A probably reason was that they were a size 10 vs an 11. I can fit some size 10s these felt pretty fine but could use a tad bit more length near the toes since they fix quite snugged.
Now lets get to bags! I am the same way about clear bags as I am with the shoes. I don’t like all clear. Give me some fabric or texture so I don’t feel or look cheap. I saw these bags from A’gaci with croc style print on the handles and the mini bag that comes with the tote. I loved this because I do not want to show the world every single thing in my bag – gum, wallet, money panty liners, tissue, crumbled receipts, etc.
You can stuff those items in the pouch and “stage” the part that is exposed to the world. I staged my bag with gold bangles, gold lipstick, nail polish and sunnies. This way it looks more chic. If I had something that was too big to put in the pouch but I don’t want it shown, this I would place it behind the pouch that faces my hip so no one would see it. Here are some cute clear bags to check out!
1. The Glare – they do not photograph well. We really had to play with it a lot to get the right angle to not see a glare
2. The Form – The bags I received I ordered on line so they are not in the ideal form. To give it shape, it requires a big of work. with my croc bags it came flat which I am assuming may depend on the type of plastic you are getting. Perhaps there are more sturdier plastic such as the Alexander McQueen “Queen & King Transparent Box Clutch. To give the bag shape with flat bottom I used 12 binder clips and pinched each face of the bag and left it like that for at least an hour an I got the shape. I did not do this in my main photos. I got the idea after doing this shoot.
Overall I still love the clear trend and have all my clear items but there were just some things I did not think about or would imagined would be nuisance until I bought them. Let me know if you got some clear bags and what you think about it!
