Where to Buy Cute Swimwear on a Budget

“Bikinis are like fries…you can’t just have one!” It is summer time which means swimsuit season!! Before, I did not have the same view as the quote above.  I would buy one swimsuit once every other year or so. I was not into owning a lot of swimsuits. But now, I cannot go on vacation without having a minimum of 3-4 choices!! As every woman knows, swimsuits can be pretty pricey for just a little piece of fabric. Some stores sells their separates $30- $40 each – so that is $60-80 for something that you don’t wear everyday all year round. I will be sharing with you a couple of places where I buy my cutest swimsuits at a great affordable price! There are 3 stores where I have found a great variety of swimsuits for an affordable price! As I mentioned in my About Me page, I am all about looking #chiqueforcheap!

One of my first stops for swimsuit shopping is Target!! In Texas, they already put out the new season of swimsuits in December! I have swimsuits from Target that are over 10 years old and they still look great! Target sells a nice variety of swimsuits. My new favorite pair that I bought recently for my Italy trip is a royal blue twisted bandeau two-piece! I have been loving bandeau swimsuits lately! I feel it is more modest and comfortable in the bust area and does not draws the attention to your chest. This bandeau (below) I love because of the twisted effect in the front. It actually comes with a removable strap for those who want extra “security”. Its one strap that goes around your neck like a halter. Target’s prices are also pretty reasonable with a regular price of $18-$23 per piece.

The next swimsuit I bought this year was a color block swimsuit! Last year, I had seen so many of these swimsuits and I loved they looked on other people, but was unsure how it would look on my skin. I found a color block swimsuit for only $23 total at Papaya Clothing store. I found this one at the Allen Outlet location.

Online, this swimsuit is now on sale for $20.92 in sizes medium and large. I felt that this swimsuit is true to size. The orange blue combo looked great against my dark skin. It made it really pop. My husband thinks its the best swimsuit I bought yet!

This brings us to the online store where I have bought the majority of  swimsuits from over the past 3 years! Target is an online store that sells items from shoes to clothing to swimsuits to lingerie. I remember years ago I stumbled across the website and thought to myself “clubwear” – definitely not my style.

I assumed that everything about the store was very clubish and provocative as most clubwear is portrayed. When you go on the site, you do come across these type of items. However, when you take the time to go browse the site you can find a few good decent pieces too.

This is the same for swimsuits! Some of the swimsuits can be a bit risk-ay and then you can also find a few decent pieces. I personally think the models Amiclubwear uses are not that great and does not give a representation of some of the swimsuits. What I learned is to picture how the swimsuit would look on me wearing the right size and try not to focus on how it looks on the model.

Some of the models they use are quite busty and I feel they purposely put them in a top too small. If they were wearing the right size, some pieces would not look as bad. However, over the course of the last 3 years I bought 6 different pairs from them! I feel that they are true to size. I think if you have bigger chest, go one size up.

The best way to find the swimsuit that you want is to use their search filters. You can narrow the search by using multiple filters such as color, size style- high waist, bandeau, one piece, color block, etc. My second favorite style to wear are high waisted suits. The one above is my favorite because of the silver sequins that gives it a nice bling shine in the sun. Also I love the silver buttons on the bottom for that “sailor girl” look. I did also get a sailor style  as seen below. It is black and white striped with gold buttons.  High waisted style looks good whether you are tall and slim or if you would to cover up the tummy area a bit. Very classy in my opinion!

The best thing about amiclubwear are the sales! They always have coupons weekly! Before a holiday, you can find the best ones for about 55% off!  Usually you will find 35-45% off coupons on a regular basis. The coupons are posted at the top of the website. So not only are the prices already low, but to put a coupon on top of that makes even more awesome! The one thing I do have to mention is that you cannot buy the pieces separately. So if you get a large, it is a large for top and bottom. But for me, I had not had any problems with this!

So many amazing suits!! I absolutely love that color block one on you. Perfect with your skin tone. I also get soooo frustrated by how expensive some swimwear can cost. There was one I wanted recently which is over $150/piece.. UGH lol Thanks for sharing these websites!
