Ayoba Santorini Review – Location

Ayoba Santorini is located in the beautiful village city of Imerovigli! Imerovigli is a hidden gem in my opinion. You hear many people staying in Oia or Fira which both cities are beautiful, but they usually are more touristy with so many people walking the streets especially in Oia where the famous Blue Domes are at and the price are usually higher in these two areas. Imerovigli I feel is less crowded and the sunset is amazing! In our opinion we loved the sunset better at Imerovigli than Oia. The distance from the Airport is not far at all. If there is not a lot of traffic, you could get there in about 20 minutes. Ayoba Santorini does not have its own parking but there is parking available within steps of the hotel where we always found parking when we needed it with no problem.

Ayoba is an all white hotel with a nice Jacuzzi! It rained the first two days off and on but because everything was white, I still took some amazing photos!! The rain did not take away from its beauty! One thing about Ayoba Santorini that I need to mention is that it is not located on the cliffside with the view of the caldera. It is within walking distance but there is not that particular view. We knew that before booking the hotel which was fine. Hotels in Santorini book really fast so we were happy that we were able to book one of the last few rooms in the village. Keep in mind we booked in Jan/Feb time period. In Europe, you should book a good 6 months in advance because Europeans love to travel too and rooms in vacation spots such as Italy and Greece book extremely fast!

Ayoba Santorini Review – Rooms

The rooms at Ayoba are beautiful and have the traditional cave like feel that Santorini is famous for – cave rooms. They have 3 room types: Canava Suite (4ppl), Traditional Suite (4ppl) & Double Studio (2ppl). We had the Double Studio room right next to the Jacuzzi. I enjoyed the Jacuzzi one late night and it was quite nice! The inside the room was cave like with all white walls! It was so great to walk in the room which was very cool in temperate! There AC worked GREAT which is a plus because it gets hot there. The room size is good where there was a little separate area where there is a sink and microwave and extra space where we kept our luggage. They have an open closet like area to hang any garments that needed a hanger.

The bathroom was cave like style and smaller. The shower did not have curtains or shower doors in this particular room so keep that in mind because the floor can get a little wet. The bed was comfortable and for the most part it was never noisy. The hotel in general is very quiet. Each room is separate and so you are not entering in a main hotel lobby to get to the rooms. It is almost like little separate apartments with an actual key and not key card.

Ayoba Santorini Review – Food

Ayoba Santorini provides made to order breakfast. There is a menu that you will receive and you mark what you want the day before and the time you would like to have it delivered to your room! We enjoyed eating outside by the pool! It was quite nice! They had a variety of food from eggs, omlettes, toast, cereal and fruit! If you want something particular, just let them know and they will try to fix it for you! The rooms comes with a stock fridge with wine, beer and juices that you can have at an additional charge. They give you 2 big bottles of water because the water is not safe to drink. This is something very common in Greece about the drinking water which we learned at our other Greek cities that we stopped at before Santorini. It is fine to brush your teeth with and shower but not to ingest.

One of the sister restaurants that we had dinner at is called Kokkalo Restaurant! SOOOO good! It was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and believe me it was worth it! They are known for their meats and everything we had so so good and the service was EXCELLENT! I had pork and my husband had steak and both were very very good! We definitely recommend eating there no matter what hotel you are staying at. It is located in Firostefani which is a little town that you reach right before you get to Fira from Imerovigli.
